4. List down and explain the universally accepted medical codes and terminologies used in medical records in health communication with suitable illustrations. 

 

COURSE II: INTRODUCTION TO PUBLIC HEALTH

1. Elaborate the different concepts of health and disease? Explain the various precautionary measures to be followed abstaining from COVID-19.

2. Briefly outline the theory of the epidemiological transition. How useful do you think it is in understanding demographic and disease patterns in the world today?

3. What do you understand by the term epidemics? Explain how to investigate epidemics?

COURSE III: RESOURCE MANAGEMENT (MATERIALS)

1. A multi specialty hospital is interested to implement various Inventory control techniques for its wide range of materials available in its hospitals. Analyze any TEN inventory control techniques followed in inventory management. Identify the appropriate technique for each material available in the hospital and explain the pros and cons of adopting those techniques.

2. Adithya MSH is situated in Chennai and it has branches across India. The hospital  procures pharmaceutical and laboratory items from various vendors. Currently the purchasing is centralized one which is done at Chennai. The hospital management plans to go for decentralized purchasing system. Is the decision right? Justify your view. Also, suggest suitable purchasing methods and policies which can be adopted by the hospital management.

3. Imagine that you are a consultant and a group of doctors with different specialization are approaching you for their joint venture in starting a new hospital. Suggest them the procedure to start a hospital from the point of registration to running of hospital with appropriate infrastructure. Also suggest suitable source of finance for the smooth functioning of the hospital. Assume that the doctors are looking for various sources of fund.

4. Assume that you are a maintenance manager of a large private hospital with multiple specializations. You need to monitor the total maintenance of all the equipments in the hospital. Prepare the maintenance management system which you will adopt to keep all the equipments in good condition. You are authorized to replace the equipments whenever it is required. 1. You are the president of a hundred-bed hospital that has a public relations person and a development officer but no marketer. Do you need a marketer? How would Marketer’s role differs from the others? Make an argument pros and cons for hiring a marketer.

2. Your hospital wants to start a new “annual health testing service geared to executives” product line. As vice president of marketing, how would you organize the marketing function for this new program? What obstacles might you face?  Who would you need to get involved to make the program a success? How would you evaluate this new service (in both economic and noneconomic terms) after it has been rolled out?

2. Identify how health informaticians process data into information and knowledge for health care tasks with the support of information technology to improve patient care.

3. Compare and contrast Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Electronic Medical Record (EMR)? Whether can it be said that HIS is a collection of EHR or EMR? How to measure the efficacy or impact of electronic medical record?

4. How can telemedicine systems operate in a coordinated manner to deliver effective care to patients with COVID-19 and to combat the crisis outbreak?
